Summer Camp | Reddemeade Equestrian Center

Our amazing Summer Camp is open to all students, 7 to 14 years of age.
This summer program is designed to be both fun and educational. A wide
variety of topics will be taught combining generous riding time with
demonstrations, videos and hands on experience in horse management
and care.

The camp is an excellent way for beginners to get to know horses because
it offers "hands on" experience with grooming and handling sessions as
well as daily riding lessons. For experienced riders, the continuity of daily
lessons and the increased individual attention helps children progress
even faster than in weekly horseback riding lessons.

Cost: Two week session: $775

2013 Summer Camp Dates:
Early Bird Week June 10th - June 14th
June 17th - June 28th
July 1st - July 12th (Camp closed July 4th)
July 15th - July 26th
July 29th - August 9th
August 12th - August 23rd

Beginners learn to:
* walk
* halt
* trot, posting & sitting
* control the direction of their horse
* canter
* jump small 6" jumps
* trail ride, weather & condition dependent
* be safe around horses!

More Experienced Riders:
Those campers who have been in a more structured horse riding summer
camp program will improve on their skills and learn more difficult
movements.

Daily Activities include:
* 1 morning & 1 afternoon riding lesson
* horsemanship lessons: daily care, horse safety, grooming, tacking,
feeding, etc.
* interactive lectures
* arts & crafts

Reddemeade's Facilities include:
* 240' indoor arena with connecting stalls
* air conditioned lounge with audio-visual center and lavatory
* outdoor rings, cross country jumps
* miles of shaded trails
* AND an exclusive, air conditioned Camp Clubhouse

HOURS:
Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a lunch break from noon to 1:00
p.m. Special arrangements in camps are available for students who must
arrive before 9:00 a.m. or leave after 4:00 p.m, for an additional fee of
$160 per session.

COST:
Two week riding session: $775
One week only: $450

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or, better yet, come out
and visit the farm to see the horses and facilities. For prospective students
(in fact, for anyone interested in riding) we offer a Free Introductory
Lesson every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Just call the farm to reserve a spot
and come ready to ride!
